Please join us for the upcoming Project Management Chapter Meeting featuring Gregory Schaapveld, Scott County Planning & Development Director, who will share insights from his extensive experience leading civil engineering projects, public-sector planning efforts, and multidisciplinary project teams.

About the Speaker

Gregory Schaapveld is an Iowa State civil engineering graduate who lives in Park View with his wife, Kendra, and their two sons.

Before joining Scott County, Gregory spent 19 years as a consulting civil engineer at Shive-Hattery, where he worked on more than 1,500 projects across government, residential, commercial, and industrial sectors.

His project leadership experience includes managing a 10-person team of civil engineers and landscape architects and serving as the city engineer for Eldridge, Iowa.

Since January 2024, Gregory has served as Scott County Planning & Development Director, where he also serves as the county’s zoning, building, and floodplain official.

He has also been appointed as the county representative to the QC Housing Council and the QC Riverfront Council.
